HUDDERSFIELD’S Academy side suffered a 28-12 defeat at Castleford last night.

The sides were locked at 12-12 after 60 minutes, with the Giants’ points coming from tries from hooker Joe Parkinson and loose forward Ed Barber, who also added both conversions, before the Tigers grabbed several late tries.

Good Huddersfield performances came from Parkinson, prop Adam Walker and winger Greg Johnson, a new arrival from the YMCA.

The club’s Reserves side is also in action this weekend when they travel to Wigan Warriors on Sunday.

The side will be finalised when head coach Jon Sharp decides on his final squad to face Halifax in Sunday’s Challenge Cup clash.
