PAUL ANDERSON will be the No2 to new Giants head coach Nathan Brown for the next two years.

The former Great Britain prop has signed a new deal to be assistant coach at Huddersfield until the end of the 2010 Super League season.

Anderson confirmed the news today, as well as the fact former St Helens teammate Scott Moore will be moving to the Galpharm on a season-long loan for the start of 2009. The 20-year-old half-back or hooker is currently on a similar arrangement at Castleford Tigers (full details – page 43).

Joint caretaker coach Anderson – who is sharing the duties with Kieron Purtill, who is moving to Saints at the end of the season – believes getting Moore on board is a smart move.

And the 36-year-old is delighted about that, as well as the confirmation he will be remaining at the Galpharm for the foreseeable future.

“Getting Scott on board is a smart move, and he will be another very talented young player on our books,” said Anderson.

“That’s something that excites me about being here.

“I believe we’ve got an excellent blend of youth and experience, and the quality of the young players that is coming through now is fantastic.

“But I also feel me staying here will help create some continuity and stability for when Nathan arrives.

“Kieron obviously won’t be around next year, but I will be here to hopefully make the hand-over to Nathan as smooth as possible.”
