Anthony Mullally's outstanding pre-season work could have put him in the driving seat to secure a regular Huddersfield Giants’ Super League prop spot in 2015.
That’s the view of head conditioner Greg Brown after singling out the former Widnes front-rower for his fitness work ahead of Huddersfield’s Christmas break.
Ireland international Mullally is desperate to have a successful year after failing to command a regular top-flight start last season.
And Brown believes the 23-year-old is going the right way about it.
“A lot of the boys have been fantastic this pre-season, but Anthony Mullally has to be right up there,” revealed Brown.
“Mull’s still a young forward who’s looking to firmly establish himself in the side, and he’s going the right way about trying to do that.
“Everything he’s done on the conditioning side has been outstanding, and the boys have nicknamed him ‘Mull Farrar” because of all the running he’s been prepared to put in!
“It can be very difficult for such a big guy as Mull to get around the field, but he’s taken all the right steps to overcome that.
“At the same time, he’s maintained his strength – him and Ukuma Ta’ai are two incredibly strong human beings – and if he can make the same impression on Paul Anderson as he has done on me, then I expect to see big things from Antony Mullally next year.”
