THE professionalism of the Giants' three new overseas players is already shining through.

That's the message from head coach Jon Sharp as Shane Elford, Jamahl Lolesi and John Skandalis set the early pace at the Super League club's Portuguese training camp.

The trio who signed from leading Australian NRL club Wests Tigers didn't get into full-time training with the Giants until January 2.

But Sharp believes they have already created a highly positive impression, and are proving very useful additions to the squad.

"We all know these are quality rugby league players and they will have a big influence on the field for us this season," said Sharp. "But they will also have a positive influence off the field. They have all won Grand Finals in Australia and clearly bring a wealth of experience with them.

"And their professionalism has been clear for everyone to see with the way they have been working since we got out to Portugal.

"They have fitted in exceptionally well and are all contributing significantly to what we're doing."
