THE Giants have returned to winning ways in Super League - but at a price.

Yesterday's hard-fought 25-18 triumph at Salford helps keep Huddersfield in the top six and went some way to erasing the memory of the Wakefield horror show the week before.

The win at The Willows also marked a shock return to action of Stanley Gene just 16 days after he underwent surgery on a groin injury.

But much of the gloss was taken off the victory by the suspected fractured cheekbone suffered by centre Julian Bailey.

The Australian was at hospital today to check out the injury, when a fracture was expected to be confirmed.

"We're doing it tough right now, with injuries picked up every match," said Sharp.

"This is a shame and took some gloss off what was a good win because Salford are strong."
