VASTLY-EXPERIENCED Batley coach Karl Harrison made a detour into the Giants dressing room at the end of his side’s pre-season clash to praise the young visitors for the way they had played.

While former England chief Harrison fielded his strongest available side as the Championship club triumphed 40-12 at Mount Pleasant, the Giants sent their Reserve team into action.

And Harrison made a point of telling the visitors in person how well he thought they had played.

“I thought it was a really flat performance from the Bulldogs,” said Harrison, pictured above.

“But a lot of that was down to the enthusiasm and commitment of the young Giants team.

“A lot of their players excelled themselves and the final scoreline didn’t do justice to their efforts, and that’s exactly what I told them.”
