ANOTHER week, and another new, exciting challenge for me and the Giants.
After last week’s brilliant effort from the guys to win at Bradford we can’t wait to take on Hull at the Galpharm tonight.
They’ve made a brilliant start to the season and that will make this challenge incredibly tough.
But I believe everyone at the Giants will be up for it and will be determined to give an excellent account of themselves.
Personally, I can’t wait to face Hull.
As someone who’s still very new to the English game, I’m thoroughly enjoying the challenge of coming up against opponents I’ve never faced before.
I think that’s one of the reasons I’m loving it so much over here.
From the clips I’ve seen of Hull they look to have a good pairing at half-back in Chris Thorman and Richard Horne, and I’m already well aware the fans here obviously know a thing or two about Chris!
It’s pretty clear to me that Horne (right) has a good kicking game, which should help keep me on my toes.
And with Shaun Berrigan in the side I know that for sure.
I’ve been involved in a number of good confrontations with Shaun in the past back in Australia, and he’s a quality player, whose very dangerous and smart on attack. He’ll be one to watch.
But we’ve also got some quality in our side, as well, as we showed at Bradford a week ago.
To be honest, I thought the team’s performance and that of myself in the opening 20 minutes was pretty ordinary.
However, we showed how tough we can be to beat when we dig in.
And I believe if we can show those qualities again tonight we’ll put ourselves in a great position to win the game.
The videos will be poised
I HOPE the folks back home have all remembered to set their videos for tonight’s match.
Because this game against Hull is on Sky TV, it means my family will also be able to watch the game in Australia on Channel Nine.
But, with the time difference, the game will be screened in the middle of the night.
I do already send dvds of all the Giants games back to them, because they love their footy, but hopefully they’ll save me a job this weekend.
