HUDDERSFIELD Giants are following world club champions Bradford Bulls to their Vilamoura training base in Portugal.

And if coach Jon Sharp works his Giants as hard as Brian Noble worked the Bulls, Huddersfield's players will need a rest when they return home!

Bradford, who host the Giants in a pre-season game on Sunday, January 30, have just returned from Browns where they faced a week of strenuous activity.

Noble's side underwent a huge training session that was designed to put them under pressure both mentally and physically, and it's likely to be similar for the Giants.

"It was very intense," admitted Great Briain coach Noble, who had Sharp as his assistant form last autumn's Tri-Nations series.

"It's a test of a player's mentality as much as their physical condition.

"A lot of people want to give in when you do that kind of thing and we need to find out who is going to give in when it gets tough."

Club captain Robbie Paul was left shattered by the demands of the session.

"The coaching staff roughed us up," he said.

"The exercises are really tough but they do actually happen in a game."
