NEW signing Scott Moore is confident the Giants can pull off an opening-day Super League triumph at Catalans Dragons on Saturday.

The 21-year-old arrived at Huddersfield on a year-long loan from St Helens at the end of last season and is poised to make his full Giants debut in the South of France next weekend.

Moore produced two quality displays in his new side’s pre-season games against Castleford and Wigan.

And he saw more than enough in those two run-outs to convince him the Giants have the ability to open up their campaign in winning style.

“Catalans Dragons away is hardly the easiest of starts,” admitted hooker or half-back Moore.

“But the boys are quietly confident we can go there and win. I know I am.

“I’ve no doubt that if we play to our full capabilities we’ll have nothing to worry about at all.

“In the relatively short time I’ve been here, I’ve seen how much quality there is in this squad.

“It’s convinced me this is a side capable of making a very positive impact in Super League this season.

“And in Nathan Brown I feel we’ve got the right coach to make sure that’s exactly what happens.

“He’s created a very good environment, with everyone training hard but also enjoying what we’re doing.

“To be honest, I can’t speak more highly about him. He’s already taught me loads and I hope that pays off for me and the team.”
