Jamie Ellis has been confirmed in the Giants 19-man squad for tomorrow’s Super League XXI clash at Catalans Dragons.

A final check on the 26-year-old’s fitness will be taken after tomorrow’s final run-through.

But if Ellis were to be passed fit – he’s spent the past two weeks training fully with the senior squad – it would be his first game since suffering a shoulder injury in the home defeat to Widnes Vikings in late February.

And Ellis replacing Jared Simpson is the Giants’ only change to the 19-man squad on duty for last Friday’s home Challenge Cup triumph over Leeds Rhinos.

Hosts Catalans, meanwhile, go into the clash lacking the services of five first-choice players.

Besides injured trio Paul Aiton, Krisnan Inu and Olivier Elima, the Dragons will also be without in-form forwards Dave Taylor and Jason Baitieri, who picked up one-match bans in the wake of last weekend’s 40-4 Challenge Cup sixth-round triumph at Batley Bulldogs.

But back in their 19-man squad is fit-again Australian star stand-off Todd Carney, while rising reserve star Romain Navarrete could make a first Super League appearance.

Catalans Dragons: Gigot, Broughton, Duport, Richards, Carney, Myler, Anderson, Casty, Stewart, Horo, Bousquet, Pelissier, Mounis, Bosc, Yaha, Maria, Albert, Mason, Navarrete.

Huddersfield Giants: McGillvary, Cudjoe, Wardle, Murphy, Brough, Ellis, Crabtree, Hinchcliffe, Lawrence, K Wood, Rapira, Ta’ai, Connor, J Johnson, Mason, Roberts, Dickinson, S Wood Brierley.
