Chris Bailey is ready to step into the shoes of the suspended Michael Lawrence as the Giants look for Super League success in the South of France.

And Huddersfield chief Paul Anderson is predicting he’ll rise to the occasion against Catalan Dragons.

Lawrence has started the Giants’ last three games in the back row, with new Australian recruit Bailey playing from the bench.

But with Lawrence picking up a one-match ban for a dangerous tackle during his side’s 66-18 victory at Bradford, former London Broncos star Bailey returns to the starting side.

“We knew when we signed Bails we’d got a player who would offer us some good utility value, and that’s exactly what he’s doing,” said Anderson, who has confirmed a deal had been done for prop Anthony Mullally to remain on loan at Bradford Bulls for the foreseeable future.

“He’s an 80-minute player and an obvious replacement for Bruno to start the game.

He’s a very talented player with a good brain.”
