CONFIDENCE in the camp is sky high at the moment!

Three victories on the bounce and a great win at the KC Stadium against Hull FC have put a lot of smiles on faces.

There’s been a lot of laughter and joking, but when it comes to doing the hard work, everyone puts their hand up and you get on with it.

That’s one of the main points we’ve emphasised – we enjoy training.

There’s not long left this season and there’s going to be a different group of players here next year. That being the case, we’ve got to enjoy each other’s company while we can.

It’s the same with the coaching staff. Kieron Purtill is not going to be here next year, so were just trying to enjoy these times while we can.

We want to extend it all by a couple of weeks, of course, by getting into the play-offs as well. I know we have to rely on other results, but we have to hold our end of the bargain and continue doing our best.

That means we need a top performance against the Catalans Dragons tonight, because they will be no pushover.

They’ve probably been the surprise package of the year and they play a type of rugby that demands your respect.

If you don’t respect them they’ll beat you comfortably. They kick out their sets and they’ve got a good work ethic, so you can tell they’re a really well coached side.

I don’t think we can forget the last performance against the Catalans (a 48-0 defeat) because it was a pretty dismal performance by us.

It’s something that we want to put right.

The boys have spoken about it a little bit and, while we’re taking each game as it comes, this one’s probably got a little bit more incentive because we want to set the record straight with regard to the Catalans.

With it being free admission tomorrow, we are all hoping for a bumper crowd at the Galpharm.

Free entry to a Super League game to watch a team who are doing really well at the minute is fantastic.

If you normally listen to our games on the radio or were planning to watch on Sky, my message is ‘get yourself down to the Galpharm and witness the Super League first hand.’

I’m sure people will really get into it and, once you’ve been to a game the first time you’ll always want to come back.

It’s an entertaining spectacle and, I think it’s a fantastic thing that the Giants have done.

People have got to take advantage of it.

With big crowds at the Galpharm you get a great atmosphere and it really helps the boys.

This was highlighted at the Bradford game which was fantastic. Seeing so many people in the stadium is great, and families with kids really get behind you. And it brings a smile to your face and inspires you to greater things.

As for the announcement at half time, to be honest I’ve no idea.

But it really is the talk of the changing rooms, with speculation revolving around the mystery of what is going to come out.

The players will be fully focused on the game, though, and I have to say I’m enjoying playing alongside Luke Robinson at the moment. It’s good.

To get a run and be injury free is all I ask for because, if I get that, I know I’ll play well.

I’m pleased with my own form at the moment and I’m pleased with the combinations with Luke.

I think with David Faiumu joining the team as well to add to that combination, he’s a great acquisition.

It’s really good right now, especially after our win at the KC stadium.

I think the manner of how we achieved it was the most pleasing thing. To go 14 points down, but then to come back and pretty much dominate the game spoke volumes for the team.

I know Hull scored a few tries but I thought that we dominated.

After giving them that initial head start I thought we were very good and just continued the good stuff we’ve been playing in the past weeks.

I was disappointed to have to come off, but I’m fine. It was just a knock to the head.

I don’t have much recollection of the second half but, I’m fine. Gareth Raynor has been charged in connection with the incident but I haven’t seen it so I can’t really comment.

Having no real memory of the second half of the game, though, doesn’t bother me because we won in the end, and if we can chalk another victory tomorrow then so much the better for everyone concerned.
