GIANTS hat-trick hero Chris Nero believes confidence in the camp could prove the trump card in toppling Wigan in tonight's Super League clash at the JJB Stadium (8.00).

Nero scored three times as Huddersfield returned to winning ways with a 34-24 triumph over London Broncos on Sunday.

It was a win which helped the Giants move level on points with the sixth-placed Warriors.

And with coach Jon Sharp set to name an unchanged team, Nero believes everything is in place for his club to secure a first double over Wigan in 64 years.

"Confidence is really high right now, and we hope that shines through tonight," said the 24-year-old.

"We came through our `Month of Death' in April with our confidence still intact, and it's now even greater after the win over London.

"The Broncos are a good side and showed with the way they won at Salford in the Cup the week before that they are getting back to some form, so last Sunday's win was clearly a good one.

"It's now a case of building on that and putting in an even better performance against Wigan.

"We know that's something we have to do, because Wigan are a great side, with quality players across the board.

"But with our confidence high, we're really looking forward to the trip.

"We know we can beat Wigan, because we did it just six weeks ago, and that's something very positive to take into tonight's match."

Stanley Gene and Chris Thorman both picked up slight knee knocks in the win over London, but are fully expected to play.

The only players still missing are full-back Paul Reilly - he scored a hat trick in the 24-16 triumph over the Warriors six weeks ago - and centre James Evans.

But opponents Wigan are able to name a stronger side than that which took to the field at the Galpharm, with Brian Carney, Dennis Moran and Terry Newton all fit and available.
