GRAEME HORNE is bidding to establish himself as a Giants shoe-in for the play-offs.
The 26-year-old scored two cracking tries in the 46-26 win over Hull KR and is hoping to retain his place for Friday’s trip to St Helens.
Horne understands why he previously lost his place in Nathan Brown’s line-up but says he is now full of confidence.
“I just want to try and play consistently every week,” he explained.
“It’s been a big aim of mine and, at the start of the season, I probably managed to achieve it, but I’ve had a few bad games in the middle and that probably cost me a place.
“I’ve been waiting for my chance and I’m glad I took it well against Hull KR, so hopefully now I can kick on for the rest of the season.”
A second row or centre, he added: “We are still in a very good position and there are 10 sides in the competition who would gladly swap places with us, so when we face St Helens next up it’s a chance for us to jump into third.
“Hopefully we can keep winning through to the end of the regular season and build some momentum ahead of the play-offs.
“Once you head to the knockout games it’s completely different and anything can happen, the mentality of teams changes and I think we’ve as much chance as anyone of doing well – hopefully that will end in the Grand Final at Old Trafford.”
