IN-FORM prop Eorl Crabtree insists confidence in the Giants camp remains as high as ever as the race to secure a top six play-off spot hots up.

Huddersfield remain eighth in Super League, just two points behind sixth-placed London, despite suffering a 34-24 defeat at Hull.

But the nature of their KC Stadium display suggests the Giants are more than capable of beating the Broncos at Griffin Park on Sunday (3.00) and leapfrogging their opponents into sixth in the process.

And Crabtree has made it clear that his side will travel to the capital confident of achieving the right result against a London team beaten 26-14 at Warrington Wolves yesterday.

"What's the most disappointing thing about Saturday's defeat is that we know it's a game we should have won," said Crabtree.

"We matched Hull in every department, and it was only a 15-minute spell early in the second half that cost us victory.

"Hull are a good side that's why they are third in Super League but we could so easily have been celebrating a win.

"We still go into every game knowing we can win, and our confidence remains as high as ever, despite losing at the weekend.

"We'll be travelling to London knowing it's another game where we can pick up the Super League points.

"It'll be tough down there, but we can do it."

Crabtree came off the bench at Hull and was rewarded with a fifth try of the campaign.

"I was pleased with my contribution," he added. "We started a little flat on Saturday, and Jim Gannon, Jon Grayshon and myself knew we needed to lift the side when we came on.

"I thought, though, I was a victim of a couple of crucial refereeing calls that went against us. If those calls had gone the right way, the final outcome could have been completely different."
