YOUNG Super League squad man Leroy Cudjoe has been ruled out for at least a month.

The Huddersfield-born utility back suffered a broken hand in the Senior Academy defeat against Wakefield.

It means he will miss tomorrow's Under 21s clash against Harlequins at the DRAM Centre (2.00).

The injury is a big blow for the 19-year-old former Newsome Panther, who has been developing well since joining the Giants' full-time squad at the start of this season.

But coach Jon Sharp is sure he will bounce back.

"We're very disappointed for Leroy," said Sharp. "He's adapted well to the full-time environment. He's got a good attitude and always works very hard.

"That's why he has made it into our 20-man Super League squad on several occasions.

"He's developing well, and this is a setback, but I'm sure he will respond positively."

Although Cudjoe is out, tomorrow's side is expected to include his fellow young Super League colleagues Tom Hemingway, Mat Gardner, Sam Barlow and Matthew Whitaker.

And ready to make his Senior Academy debut is 17-year-old three-quarter Richard Lopag, who has been impressing in the Junior Academy.

Michael Lawrence is also added to the Senior squad after showing good form for the Under 18s.

They are able to feature in the Under 21s this week because the Juniors don't have a game.

Huddersfield will be hoping they can bounce back from last week's bitterly disappointing 44-6 defeat to Wakefield this weekend.

But with Quins having a large Super League squad, they are expected to be strong as they seek a fourth win from eight starts.
