Danny Brough will lead the Huddersfield Giants into play-off battle against Catalan Dragons on Friday.

Head coach Paul Anderson has confirmed his captain is fit to return after missing his side’s last two games through injury and will be named in Wednesday’s 19-man squad to face the French.

Although Huddersfield secured a thrilling 17-16 home win over St Helens in the first game Brough missed, he was notable by his absence the second time around as the Giants were hammered 57-4 at Wigan in their opening Super League play-off clash.

Anderson is hoping the return of the goal-kicking playmaker will help his team rediscover their top form to topple the Dragons and move to within 80 minutes of a first Old Trafford Grand Final appearance.

“Broughy will start on Friday,” confirmed Anderson, whose side emerged injury-free from the heavy defeat at the DW Stadium.

“To be honest, I don’t think he would have made that much difference had he played at Wigan last week, because there was so much wrong with the overall performance.

“That’s something we have obviously been looking to address this week and we have been assessing a lot of options.”
