INJURED star Danny Brough will be the special guest speaker at the Senior Giants meeting in the Galpharm Stadium Fantastic Media Suite on Wednesday (2.15).

All fans are welcome to attend, with his appearance likely to guarantee a bumper turn-out.

Although Brough, right, is continuing to recover from an ankle injury, the inspirational scrum half is being kept busy off-field, with such events as the Senior Giants.

And he was also one of the Giants stars at a charity poker tournament organised at the Grosvenor Casino in Huddersfield, who are one of the club’s associate kit partners.

The event, in association with Bathrooms for All – another Giants partner – was attended by players from seven clubs, including Brough and Giants teammates Kevin Brown, Eorl Crabtree and David Faiumu.

Other big names were Leon Pryce, Danny McGuire, Jamie Peacock, Robbie Hunter-Paul and Henry Paul.

The evening raised £1,600 for the Help for Heroes charity.

Giants Commercial Manager Paul Cribb said: “It was great to see so many players giving up their time and coming together to help raise money and increase the profile of the ‘Help for Heroes’ charity.

“There are not that many high-profile professional sports which would be able to group all the top-flight players to compete off the field for such a worthy cause.

“There was definitely a competitive edge to the evening, but it was played in great spirit.”
