FORMER crowd favourite Darren ‘Rocky’ Turner has re-joined the Giants!

Turner has accepted a position as part of the Super League club’s new-look community coaching team.

He has also been joined by former Giants Academy forward Glen Holdsworth and Stephen Hardisty, who is English but has spent the past 18 months working in the community coaching departments of top Australian NRL clubs Brisbane Broncos and Melbourne Storm.

As well as promoting the Giants, the new-look team will be helping to develop rugby league to people of all ages and abilities across Huddersfield and will work under the guidance of Giants’ Community Development Manager Laura Hanson.

The vacancies created an enormous interest with over 50 applicants keen to help drive forward rugby league development within Kirklees.

And Head of Sporting Pride Community Trust Paul France is delighted with his club’s final choices.

“A team of development officers have been selected that provide a wealth of playing, coaching and development experience within rugby league and I am looking forward to seeing their enthusiasm drive the community work forward,” he said.
