STUART DONLAN is braced for a full-blooded derby battle in his first visit back to Halifax!
The former Fax centre and his Super League Giants head to The Shay tomorrow (3.00) confident of securing a fourth-round triumph over their injury-hit National League I rivals.
But having spent two seasons at Halifax, Donlan knows how fired-up the players and the fans will be to get the better of their nearest rugby league rivals.
And the 27-year-old (pictured) believes that makes them potentially dangerous opponents.
"Having played at Halifax, I know how much they like to beat Huddersfield," revealed Donlan.
"Matches between these two clubs are one of rugby league's most traditional derbies.
"They may not have the same high-profile as a Leeds v Bradford or a Saints v Wigan, but they can prove to be just as passionate.
"And even though Halifax are doing it tough right now, we fully expect that passion to be there when we face them tomorrow.
"We can't afford to think any other way.
"It's going to be nice to go back to Fax for the first time, I got on really well with the spectators while I was there.
"But there will be no sentiment tomorrow.
"We're desperate to put on a good show and make sure we're in the draw for the next round."
