IN-FORM Emley Moor made it three wins out of three with an excellent 52-12 triumph at Ovenden A in Division II.

Moor dominated from start to finish, racing in for 11 tries and kicking four goals.

But it was only in the second half that the visitors reached their peak, extending their advantage from 18-8 to 52-18.

An early John Roebuck penalty set the ball rolling and it wasn’t long before Moor had built up a 14-0 advantage after tries from Jason Southwell, Scott Wilkinson and Kris Shepherd.

Ovenden then struck back with two unconverted tries of their own to make it 14-8 before Karl Adamski crossed to put Emley back in control.

And at the start of the season half, coach Pete Southwell’s side began to cut loose.

Dave Pawson extended the lead within minutes of the restart and then Taff Barron grabbed two to make it 30-8.

Ovenden briefly hit back with a third unconverted try before further efforts from Southwell, Wilkinson, Adamski and Daniel Bedford sealed another convincing win.

A superb all-round team performance made victory possible, although special mention should be made of 17-year-old substitute centre Jamie Parmenter, who produced a quality debut.

The result moved Moor up to second in the League ladder and behind Huddersfield rivals Newsome Panthers, despite the fact coach Phil Joseph’s men have played just two games this season!

That’s because two of their four opponents so far have been unable to raise teams.
