ENGLAND’S Four Nations props were reunited for the first time since last autumn’s international series for Giants star Eorl Crabtree’s testimonial Sportsman’s Dinner at the Cedar Court Hotel.

Leeds Rhinos’ Jamie Peacock, pictured with Crabtree, Adrian Morley from Warrington and St Helens’ James Graham all battled their way through the snow to pay tribute to the 27-year-old to mark his 10 years with his hometown club.

Their appearance, along with Giants head coach Nathan Brown and chairman Ken Davy, made it a night to remember for the former Underbank and Huddersfield YMCA junior.

Over 250 guests attended the event, with Peacock fronting a question and answer session in his role as guest speaker.

And the England captain was full of praise for Crabtree’s contribution to the England cause during the Four Nations competition against Australia, New Zealand and France.

“Eorl was an inspiration to everyone with his performances, and that includes me,” said Peacock, who has made 32 Test appearances for his country.

“He played with no fear against the so-called best teams in the world in Australia and New Zealand, and they struggled to handle him.

“The way he came off the bench and took them on head-on gave everyone in the team a massive lift, and I’m sure he’ll be hanging around for years to come to play this sort of role for England. He definitely deserves to.

“We’ve all known about Eorl’s ability with the Giants for a number of years, and I don’t think anyone was surprised when he came into the England set-up and took his chance by storm. He’s a great lad, both on and off the field.”
