BRETT FERRES has already forgotten about making his England debut against the Exiles eight days ago.

The only thing on the in-form back-row forward ’s mind right now is helping the Giants beat Leeds Rhinos in tomorrow’s big Super League XVIII clash at the John Smith’s Stadium (3.00)!

By his own admission, playing for England was a dream come true, with the 27-year-old delighted with the way he went.

But having already admitted he likes nothing better than beating Leeds – as a Castleford lad he sees it no other way! – he can’t wait to claim the Rhinos scalp once again and make it a hat trick of triumphs over Leeds in 2013.

“There’s no better feeling than beating Leeds, and I know how fantastic it’ll be if we do it again tomorrow,” said Ferres.

“Games against them seem to bring the best out of us. Our win at Headingley earlier in the season and our home Challenge Cup win over them the other month have to be two of our best performances of the season.

“As a result, I can’t wait to fire into them again tomorrow.

“After playing for England last Friday and then having had a couple of days off, I feel fresher than ever.

“I felt great when I came back to training yesterday and I’m looking forward to what the rest of the season might have in store.

“A big win over Leeds would be the perfect start!

“And I’d love to be able to say I played a full part in making that possible, because I feel I owe that to my teammates as much as anything.

“The experience of being with England and making my debut was absolutely incredible, but I know that if the rest of the Huddersfield lads hadn’t done so well this season I probably wouldn’t have got my chance at this level.

“So tomorrow is the chance to pay them back for that. Right now that is the only thing on my mind.”

And Ferres feels that with the strength of the squad at the Giants’ disposal, a third victory over the Rhinos can be achieved.

“We’re looking in really good shape,” said Ferres, whose only Super League squad absentees this weekend are Jason Chan (bicep), Stuart Fielden (knee) and Peter Aspinall (ankle).

“Leeds are obviously doing it tough on the injury-front right now, and we’ve got to make sure we take full advantage of that.

“But we still know they’ll provide us with a tough test because of the quality of their youngsters coming through.

“They’ll feel as if they’ve got nothing to lose, so we’ve got to be wary of that.

“But we’re confident we can go out there, do a great job and keep on course for a top-two finish to the year.”

Meanwhile, Giants’ BRUT Fan of Pride player ambassador Ferres – who will be part of a shortlisting judging panel along with RL legend and Giants business development manager Robbie Hunter-Paul and Examiner RL writer Chris Roberts – is calling on all Huddersfield supporters to nominate their friends and family for the clubs prestigious Fan of Pride award before the Jun25 midnight deadline.

There are some fantastic prizes on offer for Fan of Pride winners, including the chance to go behind the scenes at a Super League club of their choice, season tickets, Grand Final tickets, an invitation to the end of season Man of Steel Awards and, of course, BRUT product.
