IN-FORM Eorl Crabtree believes the Huddersfield Giants are building momentum at just the right time.

Huddersfield host derby rivals Bradford Bulls at the John Smith’s Stadium on Sunday having won their last two Super League games.

The victories at home to Catalan Dragons and at Salford City Reds means a win against the Bulls will guarantee Huddersfield a place in the top-eight play-offs with two games to spare.

And England prop Crabtree knows his side could be ready to peak at just the right time.

“I think the biggest thing now is building momentum,” said the 29-year-old.

“We’ve won a couple of games and we’re learning and adapting our style of play to suit the new system that’s in place.

“We’re also enjoying everything we’re doing and, hopefully, we can take that on into the last few games, gain some momentum and have a good run in the play-offs.

“It’s important you hit your best form at this stage of the year, and the signs are looking really promising on that front right now.”

Crabtree is hoping he can maintain his own form at the same time.

“I’ve really enjoyed this season. I think it’s the best one I’ve ever had and that’s probably down to maturity, being older now and a bit wiser,” he added.

“I find it easier and I’m a lot fitter than I’ve ever been as well.

“I’ve been allowed to play more minutes, and that seems to be suiting me.”
