EORL CRABTREE is relishing the chance for the Huddersfield Giants to be Super League ‘party poopers’ at Warrington Wolves on Sunday.
Huddersfield head to Cheshire to face a Warrington side just eight days after being crowned Challenge Cup final champions for the third time in four years.
The in-form Wolves will be bringing the famous trophy back to their Halliwell-Jones Stadium for their final home game of the regular season.
That’s bound to create a party feel inside the ground.
But Crabtree has made it clear the Giants intend to spoil the show.
“We’re going there intent on making sure it’s a classic case of ‘After the Lord Mayor’s Show’ for them,” said Crabtree.
“Although there’s going to be a big crowd and the majority of them are not going to be supporting us, we fully intend to enjoy the occasion and try and feed off the energy.
“After all, we all love playing in front of big crowds and we’re sure there’ll be a really big turn-out this weekend.
“But nothing would give us greater pleasure than ending up playing in front of a crowd that’s nearly completely silent.
“If that’s the case then we’ll know we’ve done a good job and we’re getting back to our best.”
