GIANTS forward Eorl Crabtree wants to put on a Sunday special for the home fans when they face Harlequins at the Galpharm Stadium (3.00).

While Giants have only had two home outings in Super League XIV – bringing defeats at the hands of St Helens and unbeaten joint leaders Hull – the 26-year-old England international forward feels it is crucial the fans are giving something to cheer.

"Our performances at home have not been too good so far and we really do need to give the fans something to shout about – hopefully we can do that this weekend," said Crabtree.

"We need to change things and we need to produce a winning display and a performance that will impress our supporters."

Aside from the opening two minutes of the season’s first game at Catalan Dragons, Crabtree has been absent after tearing his hamstring in Perpignan and he is looking forward to being involved on matchday as he returns to the Giants squad of 17.

"I’m feeling good and I think that I am pretty much back to my best," said Crabtree.

"I am looking forward to the game at the weekend and it is good to get a place.

"The good thing about the club at the moment is that the competition for places is very strong and it is all too easy not to get a place in the team – although we all know that improvement can be made."

Crabtree is returning to a squad who are aiming for back-to-back wins for the first time under new coach Nathan Brown and the pack powerhouse was certainly impressed by the

display that earned the GIants a 25-24 win at Castleford Tigers last Saturday.

“You can’t fault the effort of the guys and I think that we are starting to put it all together,” he said.

“I just hope that I can come back and help the cause.

“Harlequins are a very hard working side. Their coach Brian McDermott has ensured that they have been well educated and well-drilled and they are a team who work very hard for one another.

“They are strong on offence and have not conceded too many tries, so we know we are going to have to work hard in all departments – and ensure that we make no mistakes.”
