I HOPE you all enjoyed yesterday's Huddersfield Giants' masterplan!

We knew the fans would be coming down here paying their hard-earned cash and looking to be thoroughly entertained.

And that's what we attempted to do!

It was always our aim to be involved in a high-scoring game of rugby league, with the ultimate objective of keeping the fans on the edge of their seats.

I think it was mission very definitely accomplished.

And, because of that, we always knew the final outcome was never going to be in doubt! But if you believe that you'll believe anything!

Yes, we did have the self-belief to know we could come back and win it in the final few minutes.

But it was certainly not part of the script.

On the other hand, we always had a nagging thought at the back of our minds that this was going to be a tough one for us.

From personal experience, I know how hard it is to play a game on the back of a week that's full of emotion.

We were all feeling on a real high after our performance in the Challenge Cup against Salford a week ago.

This was then backed-up by the excitement of the draw and the exciting prospect of meeting Leeds Rhinos in the semi-final next month.

So, with that and the fact we produce an under-par performance against the French, this has to be seen as a very good win.

And it was very good for several individuals.

Mat Gardner took his chance exceptionally well by grabbing a hat trick, and I have to take my hat off to Stephen Wild for winning the game for us.

It was also good to see Paul Jackson breaking his duck with a first try of the year.

I think it's always an ugly sight seeing a front row scoring a try.

But in a game like we saw yesterday, any try will do!
