HUDDERSFIELD Giants have been delighted with the initial response to their cut-price season-ticket offer.

Managing director Richard Thewlis said there had been a “steady stream” of supporters when the £80 renewals – it’s just £95 for new buyers – went on sale yesterday.

And as the Giants build up to Sunday’s Super League clash with St Helens at the Galpharm, he revealed that new coach Nathan Brown had been in touch from Australia to find out how news of the club’s ‘Revolution’ scheme had been received.

“There’s been a lot of excitement surrounding our announcement and a steady stream of supporters at the ticket windows on day one,” said Thewlis.

“People see this as a real chance to boost our supporter base and everyone is behind it 100%.

“We’ve had really good feedback and we’re hoping to remain busy for weeks to come, bearing in mind our existing season-ticket holders have until October 26 to renew their seats.”

Thewlis added: “We’ve got a new coach and new players coming to the club and next season promises to be a tremendous one.

“This offer has hugely increased our profile, with the whole of the rugby league world looking at Huddersfield at the moment, and we are keen to make it a big success.

“Nathan Brown is already excited about the prospects.”
