GIANTS coach Nathan Brown believes 2010 signing David Fa’alogo is even better than he realised!
The 29-year-old New Zealand Test star marked his Challenge Cup debut with two tries in a Carnegie man-of-the-match performance.
It was another world-class display from the powerful back-row forward, which left Brown generous with his praise.
“When we signed Dave, I knew we had a quality player but I didn’t realise he is as good as he is,” said Brown.
“I’m not sure what he’s doing in England, to be honest. The Australian NRL is the best competition in the world and we’re fortunate to have him.
“I can’t understand why someone else in the NRL haven’t taken him.”
Fa’alogo’s effort was one of the highlights of a performance Hull KR were unable to match, with Brown feeling his side produced a “flawless” first-half performance.
“It’s great to get the result,” said Brown.
“We’ve beaten a pretty reasonable team along the way.
“I thought our first half was pretty flawless, probably as good as we’ve played, and on the right day.”
