JUST a couple of points I wish to raise.

1, Elford has done the most in mopping up for full-back mistakes this season and was the OBVIOUS choice, except to Jon Sharp, to try to fill our gap. It’s taken Mr Sharp one and a half matches to destroy Jensen’s confidence, and with it the team’s chances in two matches, before realising the error of his ways.

2, Raleigh (unusually and unfortunately) caused three tries by failure to tackle at Hull KR but was left on the field in boiling weather whilst our best tackler sits on the bench for over an hour before being brought onto the field. (What has Jones exactly done wrong this year, anyway?)

3, The law of Sharp says Hudson can only be on the field at certain times and nothing, but nothing, will alter this.

For goodness sake, Mr Davy, please put everybody out of their misery and act now before it gets worse.

At the very least, put the assistants in charge whilst you consider the options so that at least next year we can watch a team that is being led sensibly.

Time for a change

AS a Giants supporter, I must ask Mr Davy to get rid of Sharpy.

We are going nowhere with him. We’re out of the Cup and have no chance of the top six.

I believe Elford is a waste of time, Jensen is played out of position and Lawrence isn’t good enough (yet).

When Hudson plays we look dangerous, so why does he take him off for so long?

Our forwards are not doing their job, except Skandalis, we need a different coach – Millward would take us into the top four – and we need a good full-back who can catch a ball under pressure.

Not fair on Rocket

I DON’T think it’s fair to give Rod Jensen only two stars in Monday’s Examiner.

Rod is not a full back, he’s a winger.

He is not called ‘Rocket Rod’ for nothing.

OK, Rod dropped some high balls, but he should not be playing in that position. And Chris Thorman is not a full back, he is a half back.

The Giants desperately need a full back. Paul Reilly was our full back, but he went to Wakefield. When Paul went to Wakefield the Giants should have signed a replacement.

I think Jon Sharp should take a substantial amount of the blame for the Giants recent loss of form.

Same old story

HERE we go again!

After the Warrington match, Sharp blames the referee for losing a game that was there for the taking.

Jensen lost the ball with the line at his mercy. Perhaps the referee was in his line of vision?

It is time for Sharp to go.

I, and thousands of fans, would willingly give £10 each to pay him off.

Focus on what matters

THE debate from Millennium Magic is illuminating, particularly as much centres on the ‘controversy’ of a referee’s ‘mistake’.

I have read little of the Giants’ full-back’s “mistake” when spilling the ball with the line at his mercy – a score which would have put the Giants 28-6 up and, hopefully, left the Wolves dead and buried.

Even less exposure has been given to the same player’s horrendous second-half defence which saw him twice lose the ball close to his line, with Wolves capitalising on both occasions.

Before the kick-off at Cardiff I bumped into an old friend in town and said, unfortunately, for every try our “Rocket” scores he seems to give two away.

Yet we try to blame the ref?

Still, never fear, the stats show we are well on top in most games. The league table says we are second bottom and we’re now out of the Cup as well.
