Luke Robinson could be available for the Giants’ home Super League XX clash against Castleford Tigers on Thursday.

But head coach Paul Anderson has warned his hooker an immediate return can’t be taken for granted.

Robinson has been rested for Huddersfield’s last two games as he juggles a number of injuries and extra family commitments brought about by the arrival of his third child last month.

The 30-year-old was back in full training today, although he’ll have to spend the start of the week convincing Anderson he’s a better bet for a No9 role than Shaun Lunt and Kyle Wood.

“Robbo’s been hammered a bit by his mates over the need to take a ‘rest’,” said Anderson.

“But while the break in general will have done him good, he does still have some genuine injury issues.

“The time away has helped him get over those, so he’ll be there or thereabouts for the Cas game this week.

“Having said that, even if he does prove his fitness, that’s no guarantee of a getting a place for Thursday night.

“Woody and Lunty went ‘okay’ in our win over Widnes, so there could be a lot to think about.”
