TWO of the Huddersfield Giants’ senior centres are in line to feature in next Sunday’s pre-season trip to Halifax.

While Galpharm chief Nathan Brown has confirmed he’ll be sending a second team to Batley for tomorrow’s trial clash (2.00), he has revealed he hopes to give Michael Lawrence (right) and new Wakefield signing Aaron Murphy a run-out at The Shay.

The three-quarters have today moved out of rehabilitation and onto the training field for the first time after both recovering from wrist surgery.

And if they come through the Infirmary Cup clash against Halifax unscathed, the duo could even force their way into the reckoning for the opening Super League XVII clash at Wigan Warriors on Sunday, February 5.

“Michael and Aaron have both done extremely well and it’ll be good to see them join up with the full squad,” said Brown.

“With the number of blokes we’ve had in rehab, the more we can get back training with the full squad, the better.

“As everyone may be aware, we’ve changed the way we play, and when you’ve only got about 17 or 18 players available at training it makes that process a little more difficult.

“So, in that respect alone, it’s good to have two more bodies back with us.

“But also the pressure is now on Michael and Aaron to make an immediate impression and try and stake a Super League claim as quickly as possible.

“All being well, they’ll get a good week’s training under their belts and have a run-out at Halifax, which will provide us with more competition for places.

“It’s also possible some of the blokes who played at Wigan the other night could have a game at Halifax, as well.”
