IT’S not just the Giants players who are gearing up for next month’s engage Super League Millennium Magic event in Cardiff – so is the club mascot Big G.

The popular figure hit the gym this week as part of an intensive training programme designed to get him in shape for the inaugural Mascot Games.

Big G is set to battle it out against 13 other mascots in a number of games and races taking place in between the six matches held at the Millennium Stadium over the weekend of May 3/4.

Hosted by the comedian Keith Chegwin, the Mascot Games is just one of an improved entertainment package for this year’s event.

Even before a ball is kicked, supporters will be treated to an array of spectacular entertainment for the whole family.

This includes face painters, magicians, fire breathers and stilt walkers.

Outside the stadium, a live house band, accompanied by a team of professional dancers, will treat supporters to a musical festival.

Tickets to Millennium Magic – the Giants play Warrington on the Saturday – are still available priced £18 per day for adults or £30 for a weekend pass. Concessions start from just £5 per day.
