DAVID FA’ALOGO has been given the green light to take up his three-year Giants contract.

Coach Nathan Brown has confirmed the 29-year-old New Zealand Test star has received a work permit.

He will now link up with Huddersfield for pre-season training in December.

The back row’s move had been put in jeopardy after a clash with Jason Taylor, his coach at South Sydney Rabbitohs, during an end-of-season party.

The NRL club subsequently sacked Taylor while Fa’alogo had his contract terminated with two months still to run.

A year ago, the Giants were unable to secure a work permit to sign Australian NRL superstar Todd Carney, who paid the price for a series of off-the-field misdemeanours.

But despite the incident involving Fa’alogo, Brown can look forward to working with one of his prize signings for the 2010 Super League campaign.

"Everything that happened with David is done and dusted now and he’s fine to come into this country," revealed Brown.

"To be honest, we were always confident that what happened wouldn’t have an effect on us.

"After the incident, I spoke to (Souths chief executive) Shane Richardson.

"He gave David his highest recommendation, so we know we’re getting a great player and we’re looking forward to him coming here.

"I’m planning to meet up with him during my break back in Australia and discussing the plans for pre-season."
