HUDDERSFIELD Giants are ready to welcome a record number of young fans to a Super League contest.

Demand for the Giants' opening match of the new season against St Helens at the Galpharm Stadium on Sunday, February 4 (7.05) is now increasing considerably.

The first 2,000 season-tickets have been snapped up at a record rate, with many juniors still to collect.

And with all Under 12s gaining free admission to the Galpharm and a season-ticket for 12s to 16s costing £35 - covering all home and away games - ticket office staff are braced for a busy week.

But Giants marketing chief James Brammer isn't complaining.

"Interest in the Giants, and in our first game, is growing all the time," said Brammer.

"This is across all ages, but for youngsters in particular.

"It was fantastic to see so many children at our launch night on Monday and I know they will all be there for the Saints game.

"They are our future, and the more we can attract, the better."
