NEW Giant Scott Grix is relishing a first return to Wakefield and focused on putting his old mates to the Super League sword.

The 25-year-old utility ace was forced to pull out at the last minute against Warrington because of a dislocated finger, which meant he missed out on facing younger brother Simon for the first time.

And the fit-again Grix, left, is determined to take out that frustration on the club he left at the end of last season when the sides clash tonight at the Hearwell Stadium in front of the Sky TV cameras (5.45).

“Being told by the medical staff last weekend that I couldn’t play on the Sunday and face Simon was one of my lowest points in rugby league,” said Grix.

“Playing against him is something I’ve always dreamed of doing, so it hit me hard.

“But, with hindsight, I think it was the right decision, because the finger feels a lot better now, which means I should be of more value to the side.

“And it also means I’m in better shape to face Wakefield tonight.

“It’s not that long ago that I left the club, so it’s going to feel a bit strange, and I’m not exactly sure what sort of reception I’ll get from the fans!

“But, hopefully, it’ll be okay, even though I’m determined to do everything I can to help the Giants get the win.

“As well as getting us back on the winning track, I want to win to get last week’s massive disappointment out of my system.”
