PAUL REILLY has vowed the Giants will come back stronger after his testimonial match ended in bitter disappointment.
The 30-year-old full-back and his side were crushed 50-0 by red-hot Leeds Rhinos in a joint benefit game with Keith Senior at Headingley last night.
The result and performance was in stark contrast to last Sunday when the Giants secured a thoroughly-deserved victory over Wigan Warriors.
There was some consolation for Reilly, who will share last night's receipts from a gate of 5,682 with Senior.
But he admitted the final scoreline took a lot of gloss off the occasion.
"I felt a real mixture of emotions at the end of the game," he admitted.
"My family and myself were really touched by the amount of support we received and I can't thank everyone enough for that.
"But obviously the scoreline was hard to take. That was very disappointing.
"Luckily, there were no League points at stake from this one, and there's no doubt what happened will make us even more determined when we face St Helens next Sunday."
