EXPERIENCED Giants assistant coach Paul Anderson believes being patient could hold the key to Super League success at Castleford Tigers tomorrow night (6.00).

Huddersfield head to The Jungle for another Sky TV clash just eight days after literally throwing victory away at home to Hull FC.

A host of unforced errors proved critical as the Giants fell to a 24-20 defeat to the unbeaten joint leaders at the Galpharm.

An equally slipshod display tomorrow would clearly make the task for head coach Nathan Brown’s side even more challenging against a Castleford side with three wins from four.

But Anderson is hopeful his players will have learned the lessons from that bitterly disappointing Hull defeat and there will be no repeat against a Tigers side led by former Giants Ryan Hudson and Stuart Jones.

“The boys are still hurting over the way they played at Hull,” said Anderson.

“But at least it means they want to get back out onto the field as quickly as possible to try and put things right.

“It’s obviously vital we don’t make the same number of mistakes we did last week or else Castleford will make this another very tough game for us.

“They’re on the crest of a wave right now with three wins from four.

“They’ve been scoring points for fun, so we’re going to have to be at our very best defensively to stop them.

“And the key in that respect is obviously making sure we keep their chances down to a minimum by making sure we don’t give away possession as easily as we did against Hull last Friday.

“For that to be achieved, we need to be a touch more patient when we’ve got the ball and not try and score off every play.

“If we do that and take the chances that come our way, then I’m sure we’ll put ourselves in a good position to win this match and get things right back on track.”

Although the Giants have lost their opening two home games in Super League XIV, their results on the road have been faultless.

They’ve already won at Bradford and Catalans, while they finished last season with four away wins on the trot at Wigan, Castleford, Hull and Warrington.
