CAUTIOUS Giants coach Jon Sharp believes Sunday's derby Super League clash against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at the McAlpine (5.30) could go right down to the wire.

Huddersfield took the honours 24-17 in the game at Wakefield on Easter Monday when the contest could have gone either way.

It's expected to be another tough, full-blooded encounter this weekend, and Sharp knows his side must be prepared for a physical battle.

"This will be a tough one for us, because I rate Wakefield highly," said Sharp.

"They've been fairly consistent all year and played well for much of that time.

"Only three weeks ago they went to St Helens and ran them exceptionally close - and at a time when Saints were running red hot.

"That in itself proves we can't take anything for granted.

"But even though we know it will be a physical game, we'll be ready for them. The boys are really looking forward to meeting this challenge right now."

Sharp is expected to keep changes to the side that won 30-6 at London Broncos on Sunday to a minimum.

But there's a chance new signing James Evans could feature at some stage.

Evans, who arrived on Wednesday on an 18-month contract after joining from top Australian club Canberra Raiders, trained with his new teammates for the first time yesterday.

He immediately made a positive impression on Sharp, who has added him to Sunday's squad.

Sharp could, however, keep faith with the same 17 that performed so well down in the capital. Any player who has to make way could feel hard done by.

Opponents Wakefield have been boosted by the return of two key players.

David Solomona (suspension) and Albert Talipeau (leg injury) both missed Trinity's narrow 20-14 home defeat to Wigan last Sunday.

But Wildcats coach Shane McNally has confirmed they will feature at the McAlpine.
