HUDDERSFIELD Giants are finally up and running at their new main training base at Storthes Hall.

The Super League club and Huddersfield Town are close to finalising an agreement to buy the land from the University of Huddersfield, who are now the Giants' main club sponsor.

Plans for a £500,000 changing block are already on the drawing board.

But the Giants and Town are already making full use of the exisiting facilities, with officials from the Super League club delighted by the standard of their new training base.

"This is an ideal venue for us, and just what we've been looking for," said Giants football manager Stuart Sheard.

"Up until now, we've been chopping and changing places to train on a regular basis, and that's far from ideal.

"Everyone now knows where they need to be and they also know that the training facilities will be spot-on.

"With Storthes Hall and the Sportsbarn on Leeds Road we believe we have access to the best training facilities in Super League."

* Flyers travel passes for all 14 Super League games next season are now on sale, priced at £118 for adults and £102 for Under 16s, and they can be purchased at tonight's Giants' player of the year presentation at the Galpharm Stadium.
