GIANTS coach Jon Sharp is ready to re-enter the recruitment market.

The Huddersfield chief has hinted that a major priority ahead of the festive period could be the search for at least one new player for Super League X.

The Giants have already made three exciting signings in Michael De Vere, Brad Drew and Chris Thorman, with the trio expected to make a massive impact in 2005.

But while Sharp has expressed his delight at the way his squad is shaping up, he has made it clear that he remains on the look-out for further fresh faces to add extra strength in depth.

"The recruitment process is obviously on-going, so we're always on the look-out," said Sharp.

"If there are any players still available who I believe could enhance the current squad then I am prepared to make a move.

"Even though I have spent the past six weeks with Great Britain I am still monitoring the recruitment market very closely."

Apart from champions Leeds Rhinos, all 12 Super League clubs have made major pre-season signings in readiness for what is guaranteed to be a fierce competition.

With top French club UTC entering the competition in 2006, two clubs face the threat of relegation at the end of next season.

That could still be one if the National League champions fail to meet the criteria to gain promotion to Super League, but no-one will be taking that for granted.

Meanwhile, new arrival Drew has already embarked on a full weights programme ahead of the start of pre-season training on December 6.

He is also on official Giants business tonight at the `Meet Brad Drew Forum' at the Galpharm Stadium (7.45).

Drew will be joined by League Express editor Martyn Sadler, referee Ian Smith, player agent Martin Shuttleworth and Giants general manager Richard Thewlis.

Admission is £5 for adults and £3 concessions, money going to the squadbuilder fund. It is free for season-ticket holders.
