HUDDERSFIELD Giants are determined to finish the Super League season with a bang!

That's the view of coach Jon Sharp as his side bids to complete a hat trick of wins over Salford at the Galpharm Stadium on Sunday (3.00).

On Good Friday, the Giants triumphed 24-16 in Huddersfield before securing a hard-earned 25-18 victory back at The Willows two months later.

Another close tussle is predicted this weekend.

But Sharp believes his players are determined to put on a show, not only for themselves but for the fans.

"There's a determined mood among the players to go out and get the job done this weekend," said Sharp.

"Several players will be leaving and they obviously want to leave on a positive note, while those who are staying will want to enjoy a pre-season on the back of a win on the final day of the season.

"That's something we're striving to achieve, and there's no reason why it won't."

Sharp is again able to select from the same squad of 19 that was available for the last home win against Hull when the Giants secured a thrilling 22-20 last-minute triumph and the narrow 21-20 defeat at Wakefield a week ago.

That match against the Wildcats was one Sharp felt his side deserved to win.

And he believes the sense of disappointment that created may act as an extra source of motivation on Sunday.

"It was a defeat that hit the boys pretty hard," added Sharp.

"They worked tremendously hard to get the win, but were denied by circumstances beyond their control.

"But they shouldn't be feeling too downhearted.

"Even though a large number of players are carrying knocks and deserve a rest, the performances over the past few weeks have shown a marked improvement.

"Having a fairly settled side has been one of the reasons for that. The chopping and changing that had to take place before because of injuries really knocked us about.

"Everyone wants to see a performance at least on a par to that we saw against Hull and Wakefield.

"If we are able to do that, then we should finish the game, and the season, with smiles on all our faces."
