DELIGHTED Giants officials admit they were `blown away' by the huge response to last night's `Meet Robbie Paul Night' at the Galpharm Stadium.
Over 400 fans packed into the EPS Suite to see the club's new major signing introduced to supporters for the first time.
The playing shirt for Super League XI was also unveiled, and proved a popular choice.
But the main reason for fans to be there was to greet the former Bradford Bulls star.
As well as the signing of autographs and having pictures taken with fans, Paul joined Giants director John Beckett and League Express editor Martyn Sadler for a question and answer session, hosted by Radio Leeds RL presenter James Deighton.
Supporters also snapped up a whole host of Giants merchandise, while the club reports that several hundred season tickets were sold on the night.
And Giants officials said that the extra cash the night generated was the icing on the cake.
"It really couldn't have gone any better," said Giants marketing officer Jonathan Wilkinson.
"The fans turned out in force and loved the chance to meet Robbie, and there was also a brilliant response to the new shirt design.
"Such a busy night meant the club staff had to work incredibly hard keeping up with demand, and I can't praise them enough for that.
"This event really was incredible and everyone from the club was blown away by the level of interest.
"This was a very special night."
