YOUNG Giants scrum half Gregg McNally has joined Co-operative Championship I club Oldham for the rest of the season.

The Cumbrian recently played four games on an initial one-month’s loan recently and was then transferred back to the Giants, with the Roughyeds without a game for three weeks.

But a new deal with the clubs has now been struck, with the 19-year-old former England Academy international expected to feature in Sunday’s clash at Gateshead Thunder.

And Oldham coach Tony Benson now believes he boasts the three best halves in the division in Neil Roden, Matty Ashe and McNally.

“When he was on his initial loan period, Gregg did really well and fitted in with us as though he’d always been here. He seemed to be one of us from day one,” said Benson.

“He enjoyed his rugby here, too, and he went better and better with each game.”
