IN-FORM Jamahl Lolesi is confident of proving his fitness ahead of Sunday’s Super League trip to Hull.

The 27-year-old New Zealand Test star lasted just 18 minutes of Sunday’s 40-14 victory at Castleford Tigers after picking up a hamstring injury.

During his time on the field he had proved a real handful and scored his side’s second try.

But he made it clear immediately after the contest he expected to be back to full fitness for the weekend trip to the KC Stadium.

The final decision on that, however, will be taken by caretaker coaching duo Paul Anderson and Kieron Purtill, who are braced for another major selection dilemma.

"The game at Castleford was tough and we’ve obviously got a few bumps and bruises," reported Anderson.

"But we’re confident most, if not all, of those who played will again be available this weekend.

"That will obviously includes Jamahl, who has already made it clear he is keen to play.

"And that’s also the case with those senior players who played for the Reserves last weekend.

"David Faiumu came through a full 80 minutes unscathed and will clearly benefit from having a full week’s training this week under his belt.

"The likes of Rod Jensen, Shane Elford and Tom Hemingway also showed up well and definitely knocked on the door for this Sunday.

"It’s a good position for us to be in."

Sunday’s contest is now getting under way at 6.00, rather than the normal Hull kick-off time of 3.15.

The switch has been made because Hull KR are also at home on Sunday (to Harlequins), and they have been allowed to start at their usual 3.00.
