IN-FORM Kevin Brown admits he is aiming to upset one of his best mates and closest family members when the Giants face former club Wigan at the JJB Stadium on Friday (8.00).

The 24-year-old stand-off is desperate to help Huddersfield make it five wins from seven Super League XIV starts later this week.

Brown believes that if the Giants can build on the form that brought Sunday’s excellent 46-6 home win over Harlequins that can be achieved.

But he knows a Huddersfield win wouldn’t go down well with certain family members – and that includes his wife Kirsty and her brother, the Wigan back-rower Gareth Hock!

“Because I began my professional career at Wigan, the club is still special to me,” said Brown.

“And I’ve still got a lot of close friends there, including my brother-in-law Gareth Hock.

“He was my best mates at Wigan and I’m still very close mates with him. But at times like this, that counts for nothing.

“We’ve worked hard to make the start we have, and we don’t want to see that go to waste on Friday.

“It’s important to build on what we did against Quins, and I’ll be trying as hard as anyone even, though it might upset members of my family, including Kirsty, who I still believe is a closet Wigan fan!”

Brown could be one of five former Wigan players in the Huddersfield line-up tonight.

And that includes winger Martin Aspinwall, who has passed a fitness test on a calf tear a week earlier than anticipated.

The duo could be joined by David Hodgson, Luke Robinson and Stephen Wild.
