HUDDERSFIELD’S trip to Super League leaders Wigan Warriors has a new date.

The fixture was originally scheduled for Friday, August 13 but will now take place at DW Stadium on August15 (3pm).

The game has been moved to accommodate Wigan Athletic against Blackpool FC in the Barclays Premier League which was originally scheduled to take place at Blackpool.

But due to ongoing work at their Bloomfield Road ground, the game has now been moved to the DW Stadium on Saturday August 14.

The change in football fixture has been ratified by the Premier League and accordingly the Warriors have moved their game to the Sunday.

Speaking about the change, Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan said: “We have been asked by Wigan Athletic and the DW Stadium to change the Giants game to accommodate the change in the Premier League fixture the day before.

“We are more than happy to assist in this and would like to thank Huddersfield Giants for their agreement to switch the fixture to Sunday.”
