GIANTS caretaker coach Keiron Purtill is hoping a return to the Galpharm will signal a return to his team’s top Super League form.

Although Huddersfield are still searching for their first away win of the campaign after Friday’s 46-8 defeat at champions Leeds Rhinos, their home form has been strong all year.

The Giants hope to make it four wins on the trot at the Galpharm against Warrington Wolves in front of the Sky TV cameras on Saturday, following their recent successes against Hull KR, Harlequins and Bradford Bulls.

And having slipped back to second bottom of the Super League table after Hull’s win at Wakefield on Saturday (the Airlie Birds jumped above the Giants on points difference as a result), Purtill is keen to see home rule continue.

“It’s obvious the boys enjoy playing at the Galpharm, as our home results have shown this season,” said Purtill, whose side didn’t pick up any major new injuries at Leeds.

“And I know they’re looking forward to getting back out onto their own field again.

“Everyone was disappointed with the way things went at Leeds and we’re all determined to make sure there’s no repeat to Warrington.

“It’s something we’ve already talked about, and if we can right the wrongs of that Leeds’ performance then we’ll give ourselves every chance. We know exactly where we went wrong and we’re working flat-out to put that right.

“We obviously know Warrington will present us with a massive challenge, because they come here on the back of two very good home wins, but we’ve got enough to think about and fix up in our side without having to focus too much attention on the opposition.”
