HUDDERSFIELD Giants reserves scorched to a 50-4 victory at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats to move up to third in the championship table.
Greg Johnson and Alex Brown led the way with hat tricks as the visitors opened up a 34-0 lead to destroy their hosts.
There were also two tries from Tom Burton and one each for former Wakefield man Josh Griffin and Greg Worthington.
Ed Barber (3) and Griffin (2) kicked goals.
But there was disappointment for the Giants’ academy side, who were beaten 28-22 at home to Wakefield.
The home tries came from Elliott Hodgson, Darren Lamb, Chris Harrock, and Joe Fox, with Danny Ansell adding three goals.
l On-loan Giants winger Jermaine McGillvary equalled a Batley record by scorching over for five tries as the Bulldogs beat Whitehaven 48-24 in Sunday’s Co-operative Championship clash.
McGillvary joins five other players in the Batley hall of fame.
Jim Wale notched five tries in one game twice (in 1926 and 1927).
The others are Joe Oakland (1908), Tommy Brannan (1920), Tommy Oldroyd (1994) and former Giant Ben Feehan (2008).
