SKIPPER Brett Hodgson is back in action and Giants coach Nathan Brown is confident his side can return to winning ways at Hull KR tomorrow (3.00).

The Huddersfield boss has confirmed Hodgson and hooker Shaun Lunt will play at Craven Park after recovering from injury, so the Giants are looking in good shape as they bid to make it two wins out of three following their opening-night success over Bradford Bulls.

Man of Steel Hodgson, pictured, missed last Friday’s 14-6 defeat at Hull with a back strain, while Lunt suffered a wrist injury in the first half, with initial fears he had suffered a break.

But Brown has revealed both men have trained well towards the end of the week and intends to include them in his starting line-up, unless they suffer any last-minute negative reaction.

“Things are looking pretty positive,” said Brown.

“Brett and Shaun are both training well and did a fair bit of contact work on Thursday.

“They came through that very positively, and unless they suffer any late adverse reaction they’ll figure tomorrow.

“That’s obviously great news, even though I still have 100% faith in the others who will be taking to the field this weekend, whatever the final make-up of the side.

“Although everyone was initially very disappointed about what happened at Hull last Friday night, the reaction since then has been excellent.

“We’ve just had two really good training sessions, and everyone looks ready to play.

“We all know Hull KR will provide us with a very tough challenge. They have some very important players who will be a genuine threat to us.

“But we’ve taken a lot of confidence out of the way we defended last week.

“We had to make 400 tackles against a full-strength Hull side a week ago and they only managed to score two tries, which is a tremendous effort.

“If we can match that and sharpen up our attack, we know we have what it takes to go there and win.

“Overall, we’re looking in good shape.”
